Conductors
- The primary metalic component used in both wire and cable to transmit both electrical power and electrical signals. The most commonly used conductors are copper and aluminum although there are many other metalic materials and composite conductors that are used for various applications. Some examples of special application requirements may be high temperature, tensile load bearing, or specific electrical properties.

Copper or Bare Copper
- (Cu, BC) One of the most commonly used conductor materials due to its good electrical properties, availability, and cost. |
Tinned Copper
(TC, TPC) - Also known as Tin Plated Copper is a Copper Conductor with a thin coating of Tin. It is used for improved solderability and resistance to corrosion at temperatures up to 150°C. |
Silver Plated Copper
(SPC) - A Copper Conductor with a coating of Silver. It is used primarily in high frequency and high temperature applications up to 250°C. |
Nickel Plated Copper
(NPC) - A Copper Conducor with a coating of Nickel. This type of conductor and other similar forms may be rated for applications exceeding 250°C. |
